i have decided that when i grow up, i will be rich. never mind the small matters of when "i grow up" is and where i get my outrageous wealth from. i've just decided.
what has led me to this decision you ask? well it's simple. i have worn the same dress to three grads, two weddings and a boat cruise formal and if fashion police existed i would be in the deepest darkest corner of fashion prison. i mean, the best i could do was change my hairstyle and my heels. There is another wedding coming up in three weeks and within that space of time i've got to find a nice "evening gown". you see, if i had a swelling bank account, this would not be a problem. in reality, i just got a letter from marianopolis college the other day requesting that i pay the sum of $1535.00 by the first day of school in august. HEY i'm a part-timer and a teenager. i like my movies and my jacob junior jeans. oh and let's rant again about how tuition's gone up $200 which means that much less disposible income for going out with my friends. how i love "investing in my future". and let's not even get into my rant about money-is-power in our society.
ok so maybe i'll move to bali and live in a hut with lots of flowers and forget about dior evening gowns and pegabo shoes.

i'm back in town boys and girls!
it feels so strange to be back. the whole afternoon i was amazed at how clean and white and big my house is. after two weeks of living in cabins and dorms and spending the day barefoot outside under the sun, city life really strikes me as so regulated and sanitized and so "gaudy sophistiqué"
a huge thank you to Garry (dufour), Jen (salty), Rosanna, Rebecca (dory), Mel (stumpee), Julia (diblee), Charline (duckie), Sara (salsa), Tori (otter), Whitney (rouger), Emily (button), Leslie (benalyn), Pat (whopper), Jason (reebok), Brad (phonics), and many many others who made my three weeks at IAWAH totally amazing. It wouldn't have been the same without even one of you!
i think one of the biggest things i've learnt at camp is that while man looks at the outward appearance, God looks at the heart...so we should as well. I've met so many people at camp who are so beautiful because of their hearts, no matter what they look like on the outside. the past two weeks have taught me to look at people from the inside out; to look at who they are before i look at their appearance.
on that note, i think doing dishes with John (poppins) has made me the envy of every other girls camper on premises. i can say completely objectively that this boy is adorable. so much for looking from the inside out.
